Botanical Puzzle 1
The first correct answer came in on December 19th 2007.
A prize has been awarded.

Continue to work at this one, as it will probably be one of our worst weeds.

So far not spotted by local environmental groups.

No weed alert notices it. It is not mentioned on any of the trendy brochures.

Hint 1:
A specimen is in the Cape Naturaliste Regional Herbarium and on the CD.

Hint 2:
Spotted: Found by Richard between Mandurah and Bunbury growing as a roadside weed. It also grows in patches along most of the length of the Kwinana Freeway.

Hint 3:
You can find this plant in
Western Weeds.

Hint 4:
You can find this plant in Florabase but we're not so silly as to give you the page number! You'll have to try to find a needle in a haystack. Every Western Australian weed is on Florabase - (well, perhaps not the latest).

Hint 5:
The scans are of a plant in bud.

Hint 6:
Spotted at Vasse on Bussell Highway

Hint 7:

Spotted on Caves Road, Yallingup Saturday 28th Oct.

Hint 8:
Spotted on Caves Road in the localities of Kealy, Anniebrook and Quindalup early Nov. 2006!

Hint 9:
It is related to a weed that grows widely on beach sands.

Hint 10:
Contained on this truly remarkable site.

Hint 11:
Spotted: a little bit between Vasse and Cowaramup.

Hint 12:
5th July 2007
Now starting to flower.
A truly remarkable species, because so far invisible to local landcare groups - not on their radar.
Very visible at the moment between Busselton and Dunsborough.

Hint 13 Spring 2007
Spreading between Dunsborough and Yallingup on the side of the road  underneath our noses.
