There is an article about the family Proteaceae on FloraBase here. A note on the Proteaceae family in the Wikipedia. | A FloraBase article on the genus Banksia. A Wikipedia article on the genus Banksia, and another on the taxonomy of Banksia. A Wikipedia page on Banksia ilicifolia.
| Horticultural note:
The seed of Banksia ilicifolia is very expensive. The unusual fruit is not unlike a Hakea fruit, containing two winged seeds. As we don't list this species, if you wish to grow it, plan well ahead so that seed can be collected.
